I received this drill in 3 days and place it appropriate to operate. The value on Amazon is cheaper than the retailers. I purchased a heavy duty auger to plant bulbs. It handled the HEAVY metal completely no stalling or slippage. It's light-weight and effective. I used it 45 minutes and it didn't run out of energy. I have numerous BD 18V batteries and gear. Enjoy them all (trimmer, blower, compact vac, chainsaw, etc) Batteries hold their juice. Advocate this item!
I have often had a sort of appreciate/hate connection with Black Decker goods. Some of them have been good other folks were not worth the trouble of taking them out of the box. A handful of months ago I took a chance and purchased this Black Decker cordless drill. I will be honest and inform you suitable now that I purchased this thing on sale at the nearby Wally Planet for a grand total of twenty two dollars.
I bought this drill specifically to carry out minor repair jobs around the residence and to build my birdhouses and wooden toys and fix points my wife wants fixed...and fixed NOW! I can tell you perfect now that this drill was not produced for big construction projects. Of course I don't do big construction projects so that point is rather moot as far as I am concerned. If you decide to buy this point and believe you are going to get something equal to a high dollar Dewalt, Makita or Hitachi...well, you are in for a disappointment. Personally when I do talk myself into carrying out a important project, either from scratch or a remodeling job, I borrow industrial size energy tools from either my son-in-law, grandsons, son or nephews. Basically, truth be told, I try to speak them into doing the project for me. At times this operates out pretty well. (I feel in some cases they try to steer clear of me - go figure). They are excellent lads.
Anyway....
This tiny drill fits my requires completely. It has adequate power to drill all the holes I have to have drilled and screwing in all the screws I have screwed in - and/or removed. It dose not have the power to screw-in large and deep screws into quite difficult wood nor does it have the power to take away nuts and bolts of bigger size that have alot more or less rusted tight...which seem to be a chronic happening around my place.
This drill does have a variable speed which functions pretty nicely as nicely as a 24 position clutch to prevent stripping screws. With continuous use, the battery charge will last me at least a single hour which is extended sufficient for me to perform anyway as I like to take frequent naps.
I like the keyless chuck as I am forever loosing the items on the numerous drills I have that require them. It is really very simple to transform bits on this thing. The forward and reverse button in well placed and a snap to use. This factor comes with a DC battery charger and the battery is easy to take away and insert.
This tool is reasonably light which is crucial to me as I am gaining old and feeble and find the lighter weight a lot more comfortable than some of the larger and much more expensive drills.
Now preserve in mind and let me repeat myself somewhat. This drill will not execute like a high dollar qualified or industrial drill, but that being stated, you are not paying quite a few hundred dollars for it either. No, this is a good small drill and screwdriver to have about the house for residence repairs and minor creating projects. It is effectively work the cost they are asking for right here on Amazon but I would advise that you haunt your nearby significant box shops hunting for sales...it can be had for less funds if you get a bit luck.
As to the longevity of this thing...effectively, we will just have to wait and see. I suspect that with my usage It will final really some time, but then you never know these days. The old saying that "they don't make them like they use to," is becoming a lot more and additional valid as every single year passes.
